APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Control & Epidemiology)

Mission: To influence, support and improve the quality of healthcare through the practice and management of infection control and the application of epidemiology in all health settings.

Mission: To continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public through the provision of health care accreditation and related services that support performance improvement in health care organizations.

AORN (Association of periOperative Registered Nurses)

Mission: To support registered nurses in achieving optimal outcomes for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures.

OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration)

Mission: To assure the safety and health of America’s workers by setting and enforcing standards; providing training, outreach, and education; establishing partnerships; and encouraging continual improvement in workplace safety and health.

FDA (Food & Drug Administration)

Mission: The FDA is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation’s food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation. The FDA is also responsible for advancing the public health by helping to speed innovations that make medicines and foods more effective, safer, and more affordable; and helping the public get the accurate, science-based information they need to use medicines and foods to improve their health.
