Bard® Brand Kugel® Hernia Patches

(Davol) These hernia patches are constructed of a double layer of monofilament polypropylene, which creates a positioning pocket that is used to guide the patch into proper placement. The patches also contain a memory recoil ring that allows them to spring open and maintain their shape during placement. In addition to repairing the existing hernia, they also minimize the possibility of a new hernia. The prosthesis covers the entire inguinal floor, minimizing the chance of a recurrence or new hernia through all three potential sites: indirect, direct and femoral.

Mesh patches are designed to be used in an open, tension-free, preperitoneal hernia repair technique. The minimally invasive, near-sutureless, posterior repair is performed through a 3 to 4cm incision, under local or regional anesthesia. Available in either oval or circle shape. Two patches per case.
