DCA 2000®+ Analyzer

(Siemens) The DCA 2000®+ analyzer provides a quantitative HbA_1C result from 1µL of whole blood in 6 minutes as a measure of long-term glycemic control. HbA_1C is certified through the National Glycohemoglobin Standardization Program. The analyzer also performs microalbumin/creatinine assays within 7 minutes to help detect early-stage diabetic nephropathy.

Self-contained test cartridges require no reagent preparation or mixing. Factory calibration eliminates all wet calibrations. Memory stores two calibration curves at one time, up to 16 patient results and 16 control results for data retrieval and record keeping. The DCA 2000®+ analyzer and the quantitative hemoglobin A_1C test received waived status in November 1997.
