Donations will include emergency medical supplies such as protective caps and gowns; more than 3,500 cases of industrial, exam and surgical gloves; bandages and dressings; needles and syringes; surgical sutures and staplers; basic surgical kits; and hygiene kits for adults, infants and children (items such as diapers, wipes, soap, and other essential items).
The Cardinal Health Foundation is donating $25,000 to World Vision to purchase supplies, which will be combined with donations from a variety of other sources to create family survival kits. These kits will provide a family of five with basic necessities such as shelter, cooking supplies and hygiene supplies for a week.
In addition, Cardinal Health employees are making financial contributions to World Vision for this relief effort. To date, employees have donated more than $85,000, which is being matched 100% by the Cardinal Health Foundation.
Cardinal Health is also collaborating with several of our suppliers and industry associations to assist them with product donations and other support being provided for the people of Haiti.
