Medi-Vac® Maximum Value Program

Maximum Value Products

Our Medi-Vac Maximum Value Program has helped customers identify ways to significantly reduce the cost of suction and drainage products.

There’s more involved in the cost of a suction canister than the figure on the price sheet. Total cost includes the price of the suction canister, plus the cost of ancillary products (such as filters, shut-off valves and vacuum tubes), plus hardware and labor costs, plus disposal costs, plus the hidden costs of less-than-optimal utilization.

When you choose a Medi-Vac® canister, you purchase a complete suction system. There’s nothing to add, so there are no hidden accessory costs. There’s nothing to assemble, so labor costs are reduced. The product is lighter in weight, so disposal costs are reduced.

Cardinal Health, Medical Products and Services will help you identify and capture hidden costs in your current system by providing a detailed cost comparison of your suction product versus the Medi-Vac® product. We call it the Medi-Vac Maximum Value Program.

How Does the Medi-Vac Maximum Value Program (MVP) Work?

MVP is a simple yet effective way to measure the total cost of suction and drainage products and to identify cost-saving opportunities.

It begins with the Maximum Value Audit. With this detailed analysis of your current product, Medical Products and Services can help you change to Medi-Vac® products and realize cost savings of as much as 20 percent.

Savings occur in three ways:

  1. Cost: Medi-Vac customers are able to reduce budget expenditures by:
    • Using standardized products.
    • Purchasing products more efficiently.
    • Utilizing products more effectively.
    • Optimizing product waste.
    • Decreasing plastic and PVC waste.
  2. Safety: Medi-Vac customers are able to improve safety through:
    • Increased employee awareness/education.
    • Improved OSHA compliance.
    • Enhanced workplace safety.
  3. Environmental Impact:Medi-Vac customers are able to improve the environmental impact of suction and drainage product disposal by:
    • Optimizing product waste.
    • Decreasing plastic and PVC waste.

Due to the costs associated with delivering quality services, varying levels of purchase commitments are associated with the provision of these services. As an alternative, many of these services are also available for sale.
