CareFusion^® wireless positive patient identification (PPID) applications from Cardinal Health are designed to high standards of safety technology. Our applications run on devices that are compact and lightweight, and combine superior data capture capability and wireless communications. The devices are small enough to fit in a pocket or clip onto a belt.

CareFusion^® applications are designed to operate on devices that are mobile, reliable and durable. The complete CareFusion^® suite was designed for a wireless handheld or laptop computer environment. Our PDA-native applications show you complete information in a manner that enables you to easily view, review and act upon it.

Cardinal Health currently employs enterprise-class Symbol handheld computer devices. All handheld devices feature integrated laser bar code scanning and infrared (IrDA) communications. The bar code scanner captures information accurately from surfaces as curved as a unit-dose medication vial.

These devices are sealed to IP54 standards to protect against water and dust, and to help ensure consistent performance in rough conditions. In addition to the handheld, we support multiple hardware devices including laptops, mobile carts, desktops and more.
