Cardinal Health receives Honorable Mention from Premier, Inc.
LAS VEGAS, Nevada - Cardinal Health's Supplier Diversity program received an Honorable Mention award from Premier, Inc. at
Premier's 2005 Supplier Award for Diversity. Ed Gravell, Vice President of Health Systems, and Lamont Robinson, Cardinal Health's Director of Supplier Diversity, received the award on behalf of our team in Las Vegas, Nevada at Premier's Annual Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition on May 18th. The annual event is attended by more than 2,200 clinical and supply chain decision makers as well as Premier contracted suppliers and distributors. Susan DeVore, President of Premier's Purchasing Partners, presented the award to Cardinal Health's representatives.
In order to be considered for the award, Cardinal Health had to submit an application to Premier, grading ourselves in 24 areas such as Corporate Leadership, Supply Chain Interaction, Education/Awareness, Measurement/Tracking, Accountability, and Benchmarking. Cardinal Health also had to detail our process for identifying and evaluating contracting opportunities for diverse suppliers as well as any outreach efforts. This is the first year for which Premier has recognized those suppliers that have made significant community contributions in the area of supplier diversity. As a result of the process, we received more insight into ways of improving our program, enhancing the differentiators we constantly establish to fulfill the needs of our customers.
