First ScriptSM automatic shipment program gives pharmacies immediate access to newly released brand name and generic pharmaceutical products. First ScriptSM customers receive new releases as soon as the FDA approves the product and it's available in Cardinal Health pharmaceutical distribution centers, enabling them to be first in their communities to offer the product to customers.

First ScriptSM benefits pharmacies by providing:

  • 180 days to return unused and unopened product.
  • Threshold for item selection nearly doubled to 75M first year sales to ensure you receive only the largest new branded drugs.**
  • Only one bottle*** of the new branded item will be included in your auto-shipment.
  • 90 days to pay for the brand shipments and off-invoice discount or rebate.
  • 60 days after the item ships (and 30 days before payment is due), you'll receive a reminder letter in your invoice packet for brand First Script products that you may want to return that are unused and unopened.
  • 90 days to return unused and unopened product.

*While 30 days of brand usage is the targeted quantity of product for each generic First ScriptSM, adjustments may be necessary when an adequate supply of product is not available due to certain market, supplier and/or reimbursement conditions. First ScriptSM auto-shipments will also never exceed 30 units of any single drug.

**Threshold - Drugs anticipated to have sales less than $75 million first year sales will not be included as an auto-shipment. You will be notified of their availability to order on your own.

***While one bottle of each new brand item is the standard process, additional bottles may be included in an auto-shipment due to the release of multiple strengths, a single prescription consisting of multiple units, etc.
