EMERGE
EMERGE is the Cardinal Health entry-level rotational program designed to offer leadership development to participants in an environment where they can rotate through different departments and locations. Participants are provided an ideal opportunity to continue exploring careers within their discipline while gaining valuable work experience needed to succeed in the future. The program is geared towards recent college graduates interested in the health care industry that are searching for a challenging, rewarding career in a fast-paced, consumer-oriented environment. The goal of the program is to provide participants with the tools and experiences to prepare them for a manager-level role within Cardinal Health. Participants in the program are full-time benefit eligible employees. Following successful completion of the program, participants will apply and interview for a traditional full-time position based on their performance, interests, development and our business needs.

This program helps develop your skills, gain knowledge and create leadership practices to prepare you for your next position within the organization. Many participants move on to become, supervisors, project managers and department managers as a results of the leadership training and preparation these programs provide.

EMERGE is a very competitive and selective program seeking motivated and driven students from colleges and universities for the following disciplines:
Healthcare providers are always seeking ways to make patient care safer and reduce recovery times following medical procedures. Many rely on Cardinal Health to provide custom-designed surgical instruments that are more precise, and technology that will help prevent medication errors. Participants will gain extensive hands-on experience in the development of medical products that are improving the quality of patient care. Cardinal Health's engineers improve processes, implement design enhancements to our medical/surgical devices and develop emerging medical products. These experiences and access to Cardinal Health resources help new graduates become well-rounded, results-driven leaders who are ready to make an impact on healthcare.
During the three-year program, participants will:
- Design medical/surgical products in one of our manufacturing businesses by partnering with other product development engineers, regulatory affairs, marketing, quality/assurance, outside suppliers and surgeons.
- Improve processes and implement design enhancements by working closely with other research and development engineers.
- Investigate new medical technologies to build technology assessment and research skills.

Participants will experience a high degree of responsibility and accountability within the financial discipline. Participants are expected to perform at a level signifying their commitment to the achievement of their professional goals as well as the success of the program and the company. They are expected to bring value to the department, enhance and improve the rotation, and achieve management business objectives as defined by the rotation manager and the program management team. This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and background needed to become a future financial leader within the organization.

Participants will receive robust training while gaining vast Human Resources experience though Center of Excellence and HR Business Partner rotations. While in the program, participants will have diverse rotational assignments, cross-functional training, and exposure to various HR competencies. The goal of the program is to provide participants the knowledge and resources to accelerate their career path and become a future human resources leader within the organization.

Information Technology EMERGE
Participants in this program will focus on a combination of business, technology and leadership skills. They will gain exposure to various areas of the business and will participate in cross-functional training. While in the program, participants will be exposed to a wide variety of rotational work opportunities offering broad professional experiences. They will work in at least two different business segments in order to achieve the targeted level of enhanced knowledge about the company.

Supply Chain Management/Operations EMERGE
Participants have the opportunity to develop strong supply chain knowledge and build relationships through exposure to challenging assignments and diverse experiences. Participants will gain valuable experience in a distribution environment that manages the most automated, efficient and low cost network in the industry. The program is designed to give participants rotations in both the pharmaceutical and medical sides of the business. During the program, participants will learn the business through experiencing the different areas of a distribution center, improve and apply operational excellence through lean six sigma methodologies, and demonstrate leadership capabilities through a supervisory experience within the distribution center. The goal of the program is to provide participants with an accelerated career path to potentially become a future supply chain leader within the organization.
