DUBLIN, Ohio, April 24, 2001 - Cardinal Health, Inc. (NYSE: CAH), a leading provider of products and services supporting the health-care industry, announced today it has named Paul S. Williams to the position of executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary. He will be responsible for managing the company's worldwide legal function and will report directly to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert D. Walter.
Mr. Walter said, "Paul Williams has played a key role in the growth of the corporation for over five years through his involvement in numerous acquisitions and other transactions. He has worked closely with the company's senior management team, and his professional relationships within the legal function have positioned him well to further develop the infrastructure of this critical area."
Mr. Williams, 41, joined Cardinal Health in 1995 as assistant general counsel. He was promoted to senior vice president and deputy general counsel earlier this year. Prior to joining Cardinal Health, Mr. Williams was vice president and general counsel of Information Dimensions, Inc., a computer software company. He earlier served as group counsel for Borden, Inc.'s Dairy and Foodservice divisions and practiced corporate and securities law with the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease in Columbus, Ohio. A native of Southern California, he began his career as an associate in the Los Angeles office of the law firm, Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher.
